Project info

Discarding a part because it doesn't meet one of the many tolerances is unfortunately a common occurrence.

Here's how we were able to repair this part, the customer had milled this titanium part just outside tolerance.A small error, but enough to cause the part to be rejected.

In our purge chamber we welded a new layer around the part with <10 ppm. This allows grade 5 titanium to retain its material properties.

After welding the customer was able to mill it to the correct size, ensuring the part passed quality control.
